Monpe no Kai storytelling
Bringing local folk tales to travelers
This page introduces Monpe no Kai’s storytelling activity on board the train. The focus is not the train itself, but the folk tales carried to travelers, in addition to library sessions, school visits, and local events.
Members tell stories connected with place names, mountains, waterside memories, and tales handed down over many years. The aim is to let travelers meet the scenery not only as a view passing by, but as stories of people who have lived there.
JR East’s official information says onboard events for Resort View Furusato are held mainly on weekends and holidays, and Monpe no Kai is listed as one of the participating groups. Event details are announced on board and may be cancelled depending on circumstances.
