The day

Protecting a folk-tale figure seen at the station

On May 18, 2026, Monpe no Kai repaired the Izumi Kotaro clay doll displayed at Shinano-Omachi Station. The April 18 earthquake had caused Kotaro to fall from Sairyu inside the display.

Izumi Kotaro and Sairyu are important figures for sharing folk tales from Omachi and Azumino. We maintain the exhibit so visitors can pause and encounter a local story.

Members checked Kotaro’s position, the connection with Sairyu, and the surrounding decorative details before returning the display to its original form.

Condition check

We checked the view inside the case, Kotaro’s position, and the connection to Sairyu.

Repair work

We carefully restored the corners, whiskers, waves, and base area.

Protecting the exhibit

We adjusted the display so visitors can feel the world of Omachi folk tales.
